Title: Landscapes Give Back: Sustainable Sites Initiative
Description:
Learn about the Sustainable Sites Initiative. This initiative has created national performance benchmarks to encourage sustainable design, construction and maintenance of landscapes. Goals include: creating standards that match national building standards for "green" construction. The initiative is modeled after the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System. Trees are an essential part of this initiative, which is a collaboration between the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the University of Texas, and the U.S. Botanic Garden.
Prerequisite: None, open to the public.
